Core Principles of Iron Golem Farming

A villager wants an iron golem only if it slept within the last 24000 ticks, one in-game day.

Gossip Versus Panic Spawning

Gossip-Based Spawning

Villagers can gossip with each other again only after 1200 ticks. When villagers gossip, a golem spawns if five villagers within 10 blocks want one.

Panic-Based Spawning

When a villager panics, three villagers within 10 blocks that want a golem are enough.

Detection Range and Sighting Cooldowns

Villagers check for nearby iron golems every 200 ticks. A villager that saw an iron golem does not want another one for the next 599 ticks.
